Murtazali Dugrichilov is a broadcaster with RFE/RL’s North Caucasus service, Radio Avar.  Prior to joining RFE/RL, Murtazali was editor-in-chief of the history and politics magazine “Nash Daghestan” (1991-2002), which was awarded Best Scientific Magazine by the Russian Journalists’ Union during the Russian media conference “All Russia-2000.” He is the author of a number of books on the history, literature and religion of the North Caucasus region and has taught seminars in journalism at Daghestan State University in Makhachkala. Since 2001 Murtazali has been a member of the International Advisory Board of “Dialog-Eurasia” magazine, based in Istanbul.

Murtzali served as editor-in-chief of two newspapers in Daghestan, “Dagpress-info” and “Dagestanskaya panorama.” He has been interviewed by STV (Turkey), and and is a regular guest on Dagestan television stations TV-5, TV-Platan, and the Dagestan State TV-company.
