Sergei Danilochkin is the Director of RFE/RL's Radio Free Iraq. He previously worked in RFE/RL’s Central Newsroom covering developments in Iraq and the Middle East and, prior to that, as a broadcaster in RFE/RL's Russian Service. Born in Moscow, Sergei has worked as a reporter and an editor for a number of print and electronic media organizations. He has covered Russian foreign policy, developments in the Middle East (including the GCC summit in 1992), and the US presidential elections in 2000 and worked as a foreign correspondent in Beirut and Washington, DC. In 1994-95, Sergei was a Freedom Support Act and Michigan Journalism School Fellow.
Degree in journalism/international relations from Moscow State Institute for International Relations (1987); Degree in international business management from Moscow School of International Business (1993)
Sergei’s work has appeared in Rossiya weekly, Evropa monthly, Novosti wire service, and Bloomberg Business News. He is regularly interviewed by and is a contributer to various media organizations, including radio and TV stations.
