Oana Serafim has worked at the National Film Archive in Bucarest before turning to broadcasting. Prior to joining RFE/RL Oana worked for the BBC World Service - Romanian Service as a broadcaster. She started working for RFE/RL in 1995 first as a broadcaster and since 2003 as Director of the Romania - Moldova Service. Since the closure of the Romanian Service, in 2008, she has worked as the Director of the Moldova Service.
Oana Serafim graduated the National Academy for Film and Theatre in Bucharest in 1979 with a degree focusing on film and theater critique.
