12 January 2006 -- Emergency workers have rescued seven miners who had been trapped by a rock slide in a coal mine in eastern Ukraine.

Officials said none of the men were hurt.

The accident occurred at the Voskresenskaya mine in the town of Snezhnoye in Ukraine's Donetsk region. Emergency crews are at the scene.

Accidents are frequent in Ukrainian coal mines, which are considered among the world's most dangerous.
