EU Peacekeepers Capture Bosnian War Crimes Suspect

Mass grave in Bosnia marked by bullet shells (file photo) (AFP) 5 January 2006 -- EU peacekeepers today captured a war crimes suspect, Dragomir Abazovic, in Bosnia.

His wife was killed and his 12-year-old son wounded in a shootout with EUFOR troops near the small town of Rogatica.

All three were taken to hospital in the city of Foca. Doctors said Abazovic's wife later died from blood loss.

A local court in Bosnia had indicted Abazovic for alleged war crimes committed in Rogatica during the Bosnian war.
