History

• Radio Azadliq was established in 1953, broadcasting on SW to the Soviet Socialist Republic of Azerbaijan.
• Radio Azadliq launched its award-winning website in 2004. It is now one of the most popular news websites in Azerbaijan.
• In 2007, Radio Azadliq began broadcasting on FM 101.7 to Baku.

• Radio Azadliq broke the story about the Soviet invasion of Azerbaijan on January 20, 1990.
• Every day, Radio Azadliq receives hundreds of text messages and e-mails from listeners and readers. Its flagship program, "Hotline," investigates complaints and stories submitted to the station by its citizens.
