RFE/RL (Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty) is an independent, international news and broadcast organization to Eastern and Southeastern Europe, Russia, the Caucasus, the Middle East to include Iran and Iraq Central and Southwest Asia.

Across our broadcast region, more than 30 million people enjoy and rely on RFE/RL programming. Through broadcasts in 28 languages, RFE/RL provides news, information and responsible discussion of domestic and international issues to countries where free and independent media are not permitted or not yet fully established.

RFE/RL is a nonprofit organization funded by the U.S. Congress. Corporate headquarters are in Washington D.C., but programming originates from our Prague operational headquarters as well as from bureaus.



We are currently seeking Broadcaster for Radio Free Iraq, our Arabic Language Service, to initiate, develop, produce, and deliver news and feature stories in Arabic from assigned materials or from original research and reporting.
This position will be based in Prague, Czech Republic.

Qualifications:
•Professional fluency in Arabic and English including translation skills
•Demonstrated writing and analytical skills with broad knowledge of political, economic, and social structures of Iraq and surrounding regions, as well as strong general knowledge of international affairs
•Minimum of 4 years journalism experience
•Ability to write and edit stories for the Website (including handling of relevant multimedia content)
•Demonstrated strong commitment to journalistic integrity and objectivity
•Ability to guide and coordinate the work of contributors
•A university degree in journalism, international relations, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in one of these disciplines highly preferred
•Proven ability to function effectively with people from widely different national and cultural backgrounds
•Knowledge and practical experience of radio broadcasting practices and techniques strongly preferred
