Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) is an independent, international news and broadcast organization, whose content on radio, Internet and television reach influential audiences in Russia, Central Asia, Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Across our broadcast region, more than 30 million people enjoy and rely on RFE/RL programming. Through broadcasts in 28 languages, RFE/RL provides news, information and responsible discussion of domestic and international issues to countries where free and independent media are not permitted or not yet fully established.

RFE/RL is a nonprofit organization funded by the U.S. Congress. Corporate headquarters are in Washington D.C., but programming originates from our Prague operational headquarters as well as from bureaus in 19 countries.



We are currently seeking Studio Technician for our Persian language service Radio Farda to assist with a variety of radio programs using a number of production techniques.

He/she will operate equipment, direct production and contribute to program design, ensuring the highest possible technical quality of the Persian Service broadcasts.

Qualifications:

·Education in radio journalism or related communications field, or equivalent combination of training and experience in one of these disciplines an advantage
·Experience in radio production practices and techniques, including operating audio equipment and digital audio workstations a requirement
·Knowledge of political, economic, cultural and social structures of Iran, as well as international affairs an advantage
·Operational experience with Microsoft Windows based computer programs a requirement
·Formal musical education and/or professional experience with musical program selection would be an advantage
·Ability to work weekends and nights, as required
·Ability to function effectively with people from different national and cultural backgrounds
·Strong command of English required; Professional fluency in written and spoken Persian, would be an advantage
