RFE/RL (Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty) is an independent, international news and broadcast organization to Eastern and Southeastern Europe, Russia, the Caucasus, the Middle East to include Iran and Iraq Central and Southwest Asia.

Across our broadcast region, more than 30 million people enjoy and rely on RFE/RL programming. Through broadcasts in 28 languages, RFE/RL provides news, information and responsible discussion of domestic and international issues to countries where free and independent media are not permitted or not yet fully established.

RFE/RL is a nonprofit organization funded by the U.S. Congress. Corporate headquarters are in Washington D.C., but programming originates from our Prague operational headquarters as well as from bureaus.



The ideal candidate will serve as the Deputy to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. You will play a key role in directing worldwide fiscal functions of RFE/RL in accordance with accounting and financial management practices and principles. You will be included on all financial and budgetary matters to assist CFO in developing RFE/RL's budgetary requirements, protecting RFE/RL's financial assets as well as ensuring the integrity of the accounting and providing clear, concise, and accurate financial information to the President and Board of Directors.



Qualifications:

• Candidate should be an experienced leader and financial executive who has experience working with governmental agencies or nonprofits; is decisive, energetic, forward thinking and possesses a "big picture" perspective.
• Creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image.
• A strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, strong operational focus and well versed in systems.
• A well organized and self-directed individual who is “politically savvy” and a team player.
• An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to communication skills with outstanding interpersonal skills.
• A good educator who is trustworthy and willing to share information and serve as a mentor.
• An excellent negotiator who is experienced in contracts.
• Possess a Master's degree in Finance or equivalent of education and training;
• 10-15 years related experience;
• Certified as a Public Accountant.
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
