Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) is an international broadcast organization based in Washington, D.C. and Prague, Czech Republic. RFE/RL's programs -- via radio, the Internet, and television -- reach influential people in 21 countries, including Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Russia, the Caucasus, and Central Asian nations.

RFE/RL's mission is to provide accurate and reliable news and information to domestic audiences in the local language. RFE/RL broadcasts in 28 languages and attracts nearly 23.4 million weekly listeners and online visitors.

With more than 400 journalists, 750 freelancers, and 19 local bureaus, RFE/RL is one of the most comprehensive news operations in the world. It is funded by the U.S. Congress through the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG).

We are currently seeking a User Support Technician who will be responsible for providing technical help desk support. Primary responsibilities will be responding to requests for help and providing technical solutions to desktop and mobile computer users.

Qualifications:

Formal technical training with a focus on hardware or software applications.

Experience providing technical support for users in a business setting.

Proven analytical / problem solving skills

The flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends

Excellent customer service orientation

Solid communicative ability in English and Czech

Preferred Skills / Experience:

Microsoft Windows 7 and XP

MS Office

Lotus Notes

Other responsibilities include:

Installing, maintaining, and testing software applications,

Testing and installing desktop, laptop and printer hardware,

Working closely with server administrators, and network engineers to resolve technical problems related to desktop computing.
