Rally Highlights Plight Of Moscow's Disabled

For the fourth straight year, the Russian magazine "Big City" sponsored a rally in Moscow to draw attention to the plight of the city's disabled. On September 16, activists in wheelchairs converged on the Russian capital's famous Tverskaya Street to prove how difficult life can be without the proper accommodation. Earlier this month, the head of Moscow's Social Protection Department, Vladimir Petrosian, said all public facilities in Moscow would be adapted for the disabled by 2016. He said the share of facilities fully or partially adapted for disabled people will reach 74 percent by the end of this year.
