Taliban gunmen have attacked a hotel in Kabul's popular Lake Qargha recreation area. The attack occurred late on June 21 when the assailants took several people hostage. Afghan police fought a protracted gun battle with the militants that lasted almost 12 hours. At least eight people, including four militants and four civilians, were killed in the fighting during which police reportedly freed dozens of civilians. (Reuters video)
