In Afghan Drug Trade, Addicts Are Forgotten Casualties

Afghanistan's opium industry not only fuels massive exports -- it also supplies a growing number of addicts within its own borders. The country's Counternarcotics Ministry reports that more than 1 million Afghans are addicted to opium and heroin, with little hope of assistance to help them return to normal life.
