This is the second time I've seen this idea. The first time was in the Moscow - based The Exile with Russian Oligarchs trading cards. While it worked for shady oligarchs and was quite amusing, in the context of these opposition figures - many of whom have and are risking their lives - it's tasteless. It also implies that Iranian politics is a simply game for our amusement. Secondly, the cultural context of baseball is purely American and is lost on non-Americans. Are the English-language pages of RFE targeted purely towards a US audience, or did the editors just forget that baseball is only popular in the US, Venezuela and Cuba?

I like these cards. They give me better idea of who is involved. It is not serious, I guess. That does not mean issue is not serious.
