Blast At Vladikavkaz Market Kills 17

Officials in Russia's North Ossetian capital of Vladikavkaz say a suicide bomber in the city's busy central market created a massive blast that ripped through the market and shattered the windows of nearby apartment buildings, killing at least 14 and injured dozens more, including a number of children.

On May 2, the news agency Regnum circulated what it billed as an interview with North Ossetia's mufti, Ali-hadji Yevteyev. Yevteyev himself subsequently claimed that it was in fact a "discussion" and not intended for publication.
