Czech Republic: Flood of the Century
Czech observers call it the worst flood in recorded history. So far, it has killed 46, left thousands homeless, halted the operations of thousands of businesses, and caused billions of dollars in damages. Since about July 8, the eastern quarter of the Czech Republic -- Moravia and East Bohemia -- and parts of Poland have been paralyzed by flooding. This package includes reports from the field by RFE/RL senior correspondent Jolyon Naegele, initial news reports, and links to relief and flood information.
