IMF/World Bank Annual Meeting
Each year, the board of governors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and of the World Bank convene to discuss the work of their institutions. This year's meeting was held September 17 to 25, 1997, and was in Hong Kong, which became part of China earlier this year. RFE/RL economics correspondent Robert Lyle reported from Hong Kong during the meeting.
