1967 -- completes Kazakh Polytechnic Institute

1968-72 -- works as foreman, superintendent, chief of SMU Organization at Almaataotdelstroi

1972 -- chief of Kazorgtekhstroi Institute

1972-73 -- chief engineer at SMU Almaatatsenstroi

1973-77 -- chief engineer, head of SMU Almaatatsenstroi

1977-79 -- instructor, Alma-Ata party Oblast committee

1979-81 -- head of construction department at the Alma-Ata city party committee

1981-85 -- deputy chairman of Alma-Ata city executive committee

January 1985-December 1985 -- chief of construction in villages for the Council of Ministers of Kazakh SSR

1985-91 -- chairman of Alma-Ata city party executive committee

March-September 1991 -- first secretary of Alma-Ata City party committee

March 1991-February 1992 -- chairman of Alma-Ata city committee

February 1992-June 1994 -- head of Almaty city administration
