Swat's Female Dancers Struggle With Taliban's Legacy

It’s really been a nice effort to highlight the blossom of music and other social activities in the scenic Valley of Swat. I must say that culture which we call " Kaltoor" in our language never dies. It can be deformed but you may see it in one form or the other. However, I hope that things are coming back to normal and females will feel free to exercise their passion for music in same zeal and spirit as earlier.

these talibans are supported by the ISI the goverment of pakistans as a pushtoon myself from the childhood we wear told to hate the west in the name of islam, there is no way in islam says that you have to hate another human being the pushtoons are against there culture or musics, because the tatics has been played by the goverment of pakistan these are the same people brain washed pushtoons in the name of islam to keep them in the stone age ,pashtuns has been divided into three or four parts bololochilstan fourty percent pushtoons afghanistan 25 million pushtoons and of course in pakhton kwa 35 million pushtoons we have everything but what we need to do is educate our people in the land of the language which is pashto, noone should be employed unless he speak pashto on the pushtoon land if women dont dance or sing or work how would they get there benifits when there family or husband dies women should be educated working in the office and of course there is nothing wrong with singing according to islam and the pushto culture

there are many pashtons who loved to see the indian women or punjabi women dance on the tv these are the same pushtons who would also want to see two pashton women dance in front of fifty people of course these sort of things are against islam but pashtons women who dance according to there culture without sexual harrasment from a man i dont think there is anything wrong with that its up to us pashton man to behave and control ourselves we should not be against those actress or stars who are the only people keeping our culture pashto alive, there are many things in islam that we pashtons are not doing it right for example we hold our women against there will to marry there cousins if they love somebody else this is not in islam neither its in pashto this is just to keep the pasho culture back in the stone age, another ones if somebody or someone in pashto culture shot somebody the killer who shot someone he gets away with it but we shoot one of his family member this is also against islam, as for hijab is covering your head dress modestly burka is not in islam we just made this up its now where in quran has been mentioned that the women has to be forced to wear a burka we made these rules up as we go along, if someone kills someone in another country we give them pana we hide them the same murder who also can commit or kill someone in our lands this is also not in islam, no matter where you go in the world the language of the land will be the language of that land, as for we pashtons we have three four languages this divided pashtons into thousands pieces our economy has been run by foron languages, one of my friend went to saudia arabia with a faulty passport he was not an arab he got caught he has spent four years in prison for not having a arab passport they tell us there should be no borders in islam, but at the same time if we get caught or go to another country we get harrased and abused christians or muslims these are the same people who come and go as they please one more it dont make no sense to me if the mahajar come from india come as they go as they please when the pashton come from afghanistan we see them as a mahajar how we suppose to populate our children our culture if we treat each other like this we need to recongnise who our enemy is and what real islam is, we must be doing something wrong

It is good that taliban banned it. A muslim is muslim. Music and islam cannot go together. Pushtoon have their folk dancing like khattak dance, but woman dancing in front of drunk is neither islam nor pushtoonwali.
