Moroccan officials say they have arrested a Belgian citizen with Moroccan roots who was directly linked with some of those involved in the deadly terror attacks in Paris in November.
The Interior Ministry said in a statement that the suspect, arrested on January 15 in a town near Casablanca, had "direct links with some" of the Paris attackers and had traveled to Syria, where he joined the Islamic State (IS) extremist group.
The coordinated suicide bombings and mass shootings at four sites in the French capital on November 13 killed 130 people and wounded more than 350.
Seven of the attackers died, but police are still searching for accomplices.
The IS group claimed responsibility for the attacks.
France, which carried out its first air strikes against IS targets in Syria in September 2015, ramped up its attacks with warplanes significantly after the Paris killings.
