WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Barack Obama has nominated Tracey Ann Jacobson, a former envoy to both Tajikistan (2006-2009) and Turkmenistan (2003-2006), to become the next U.S. ambassador to Kosovo.
Jacobson is a career member of the Foreign Service and has been posted to Latvia and Russia, among other countries.
She is currently the deputy director of the Foreign Service Institute (FSI), which is the U.S. government's primary training center for foreign affairs specialists.
If confirmed by the Senate, she will replace Washington's current U.S. envoy to Pristina, Christopher Dell.
