U.K. To Send 370 More Troops To Iraq

27 May 2004 -- British Defense Secretary Geoff Hoon today said that Britain is sending 370 more troops to Iraq.

Hoon made his announcement in parliament. He said around 370 troops will be sent to Iraq, bringing the total of British forces there to about 8,900.

Hoon said the decision was made based on the continuing threat of violence in Iraq.
