Bush Picks Arms Control Expert To Be UN Envoy

7 March 2005 -- U.S. President George W. Bush has picked Undersecretary of State John Bolton to be U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice made the announcement in Washington today.

Bolton is viewed as an outspoken arms control expert. He is a lawyer whose strong statements have irked leaders in North Korea and China.
