Six Russian Soldiers Killed In Chechnya


29 August 2005 -- Six Russian soldiers have been killed in the past day in fighting in Chechnya.

An official (unnamed) in the pro-Moscow Chechen government says Russian positions came under attack 17 times, accounting for five of the dead.

A sixth soldier was reportedly killed in a land-mine explosion near the southern town of Shatoi.
