Iraq Suicide Bomber Attacks U.S. Diplomatic Convoy

20 September 2005 (RFE/RL) -- Reports say a suicide car bomber attacked a U.S. diplomatic convoy in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul today, killing four security guards.

News agencies cite a U.S. official as saying the suicide bomber rammed his car into the three-car U.S. convoy. The four occupants of the middle car, a U.S. diplomatic security agent and three private security contractors, were killed.

All four were attached to the U.S. Consulate in Mosul.
