Iraqi Death Toll This Week Over 120


An Iraqi soldier patrols the Al-Adhamiyah district of Baghdad (file photo) (epa) April 25, 2006 -- At least 123 people were killed and 153 wounded in rebel attacks last week, Defense Ministry spokesman General Abd-al Aziz Muhammad said today.


Insurgents carried out 469 attacks over the course of the week, of which 17 were car bombs, including four suicide car bombings.


Muhammad told reporters that security forces killed six suspected insurgents and arrested 240 over the seven days.
