Iraqi Government Needs To Take 'Faster Action'

Stephen Hadley, U.S. national security adviser (file photo) (epa) October 25, 2006 -- U.S. President George W. Bush's national security adviser says the Iraqi government needs to move faster to bring security to Iraq.

Stephen Hadley said on a U.S. radio program that Iraqi authorities are starting to make the tough decisions needed to halt rising sectarian violence, but that they must do more.

In Baghdad on October 24, the U.S. ambassador to Iraq, Zalmay Khalilzad, said he expects Iraqi leaders to make "significant progress" in the next year toward achieving their key political and security goals.
