Polish Premier In Iraq On Unannounced Visit


Kaczynski with Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki in 2006 (epa) May 16, 2007 -- Polish Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski arrived in Baghdad today on an unannounced visit.


Kaczynski, whose country has 900 soldiers in Iraq, traveled first to the Green Zone, the heavily fortified area on the banks of the Tigris River in central Baghdad, where he is due to hold talks with top Iraqi officials.


Twenty Polish soldiers have been killed in Iraq.
