Poland To Ease Labor Rules For Non-EU Neighbors

(RFE/RL) July 18, 2007 -- EU member Poland announced today it will ease labor rules for citizens from non-EU countries Ukraine, Russia, and Belarus.

A decree from the Labor Ministry said that from July 20, citizens from the three nations will be allowed to work freely in Poland for a maximum of six months per year.

Poland has seen hundreds of thousands of its citizens leave the country for better jobs in Western Europe since it joined the EU in 2004.
