Moscow, June 25 (RFE/RL) -- Chechen protestors are reported to have gathered outside the pro-Russian government building in Grozny today following the overnight shelling of the city by Russian forces.
Interfax news agency said several people were injured during the
shelling of the Oktjabarsky district in the city.
Itar tass said two Russian servicemen were wounded last night when
a grenade was thrown at their armoured vehicle from a passing car.
Meanwhile Russian President Boris Yeltsin today ordered a partial
withdrawal of Russian troops from Chechnya. The partial pullout is to be completed by the end of August.
