Bosnia: Christopher Goes To Paris For Bosnia Meeting




Washington, 13 November 1996 (RFE/RL) - U.S. Secretary of State Warren Christopher will be in Paris today for two days of talks on rebuilding Bosnia's war-torn economy.

The U.S. State Department says he will attend a one-day meeting tomorrow of the Bosnia Peace Implementation Council.

In addition to the U.S., the council's members are Britain, Germany, France, Russia and several other countries that are contributors to economic reconstruction programs in Bosnia.

Christopher will spend most of his time today in bilateral talks with some of the Council members.

The presidents of Bosnia, Serbia and Croatia have been invited to the meeting and are expected to meet with Christopher.

Christopher is arriving in Paris from Cairo, Egypt where he attended a similar conference on the Middle East.
