Hungary: Prime Minister Praises Romanian Developments

Prague, 15 August 1997 (RFE/RL) -- Hungarian Prime Minister Gyula Horn praised the Romanian government's reform policy and its consistent efforts to uphold the legitimate demands of the country's ethnic Hungarians.

In a telephone conversation yesterday with Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ciorbea, Horn said the Hungarian government fully supports Romania's efforts to meet the conditions of Euro-Atlantic integration.

He also said the ways by which Hungary, the Czech Republic and Poland could support Romania's objectives will be discussed at a Hungarian-Romanian-Polish meeting next Friday in the Polish city of Krakow.
