Munich, 9 September 1997 (RFE/RL) - Turkmen President Saparmurad Niyazov's condition is improving following a heart surgery he underwent earlier this month.
Niyazov underwent heart surgery in Munich following an official visit to Germany.
Our correspondent reports Niyazov is already able to walk slowly but that it is not yet clear how long he will remain in hospital. Reporters have been denied access to the 57-year old President.
