Emigre Entrepreneurs Encouraged To Invest In Georgia


TBILISI -- A business forum opened in Tbilisi today designed to encourage Georgian businesspeople living abroad to invest in their home country, RFE/RL's Georgian Service reports.

Some 30 entrepreneurs from abroad are attending the forum, which is intended to acquaint them with the current business climate in Georgia and the investment opportunities that exist there.

President Mikheil Saakashvili and Prime Minister Nika Gilauri will attend the forum and meet with participants.

The attendees will also travel to Batumi, the agricultural region of Kakheti, and the mountain region of Svaneti during the forum.
