MONDAY, November 21:

Moldova: Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat meets Transnistrian leader Igor Smirnov in Chisinau.

Kosovo/Serbia: The countries resume border-dispute talks in Brussels.

EU: Fundamental Rights Agency holds conference on dignity and rights of irregular migrants (to November 22).

Russia: St. Petersburg's Hermitage Museum hosts the sixth forum of young European and Asian journalists, called "Dialogue of Cultures" (to November 23).


TUESDAY, November 22:

Azerbaijan: Baku hosts Central Asia's Regional Economic Cooperation summit (to November 24).

Moldova/Russia: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov visits Moldova.

Iran: Tehran hosts its first conference on international humanitarian law (to November 23).

EU/W.Balkans: EU Parliament's Foreign Afairs Committee reviews parliamentary resolution on the European integration process of Kosovo; holds exchange of views with Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic.

Turkmenistan: Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov visits China (to November 25).


WEDNESDAY, November 23:

World: International Day to End Impunity.

EU: European Parliament holds a high level human rights conference within the Sakharov Prize Network with participants from Belarus, Azerbaijan, and others.

Czech Republic: Czech Foreign Affairs Ministry hosts the 11th Informal ASEM Seminar on Human Rights (to November 25).

Belarus/Venezuela: Minsk hosts the first Venezuela-Belarus Forum.

Russia: The fifth anniversary of ex-KGB officer turned Kremlin critic Aleksandr Litvinenko's death in London.


THURSDAY, November 24:

Iran: Tehran hosts its first international conference on human rights and cultures (to November 26).

Russia: Presidential Council on Civil Society and Human Rights Development convenes to discuss human rights in prison facilities in the light of the Sergei Magnitsky case.


FRIDAY, November 25:

World: International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

Iraq: Basra hosts International Oil and Natural Gas Conference and Exhibition (to November 28).

Belarus/Russia: Russian Gazprom signs a natural gas agreement with Belarus; Supreme State Council of the Union State of Russia and Belarus holds a session in Moscow.

Georgia: Billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili founds his new public movement called “Georgian Dream”.

Iran/U.S.: The 25th anniversary of the exposure of the so-called Iran-Contra affair of president Ronald Reagan's administration.

Serbia: The 15th anniversary of a popular march in Belgrade, which accused then President Slobodan Milosevic of falsifying municipal elections.


SATURDAY, November 26:

Ukraine: National Day of Remembrance of Famine Victims.

SUNDAY, November 27:

Georgia: Breakaway region of South Ossetia holds the second round of its presidential election.

Russia: The ruling United Russia party holds the second part of its 12th national congress.
