MONDAY, September 16:

UN: International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer.

Georgia: OSCE presidential election observers arrive in Tbilisi.

Georgia: President of the Parliamentary Assembly of OSCE Ranko Krivokapic to arrive in Georgia (September 18).

Kazakhstan: Almaty hosts Eurasia International Film Festival (to September 21).

Kyrgyzstan: President Almazbek Atambaev visits Belgium (to September 18).

Kyrgyzstan: Bishkek holds an international conference Mountainhazards 2013 - Natural Hazards, Climate Change and Water in Mountain Areas (to September 18).

Pakistan/Turkey: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visits Ankara (to September 18).

Russia: Egyptian Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy to meet with Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Russia: The 10th-anniversary session of the Valdai International Discussion Club to be held in Novgorod region (to September 19).

Syria: French President and U.S. and British diplomats to discuss in Paris the wording of the new draft resolution.

Syria/UN: Ban Ki-moon to present a report on the country’s alleged use of chemical weapons.


TUESDAY, September 17:

UN: General Assembly starts its 68th session in New York.

Armenia/Russia: an Armenian church to be consecrated in Moscow.

Russia/U.S.: The 18th session of the Russian-American Pacific Partnership (RAPP) to be held in Vladivostok.

Tajikistan: the first preelection party congresses to take place in Tajikistan.

Tajikistan: Dushanbe holds a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission of the International Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia.

Ukraine: The plenary session of the Supreme Rada to consider presidential bill on the reform of the Prosecutor's Office (to September 20).


WEDNESDAY, September 18:

Ukraine: Cabinet of Ministers to consider the text of the Association Agreement with the EU.


THURSDAY, September 19:

Georgia: Tbilisi International Theater Festival (to October 8).

Russia/Japan: Ichita Yamamoto, Japan's state minister in charge of territorial issues, to visit Russia's Southern Kuril Islands.

Ukraine: The 10th Yalta Annual Meeting (to September 22). European Commissioner Stefan Fuele and members of the European Parliament observation mission Pat Cox and Aleksander Kwasniewski are expected.

U.S.: UN Global Compact Leaders Summit 2013 to take place in New York.


FRIDAY, September 20:

Belarus/Russia: Joint strategic military exercise of the armed forces of Belarus and Russia, "West - 2013." (to September 26).


SATURDAY, September 21:

UN: International Day of Peace.

Armenia: Independence Day.


SUNDAY, September 22:

World Car-Free Day.

Armenia: Independence Day Festival.

Belarus: National conference of the opposition to try to nominate single presidential contender.
