Two founding members of the Russian punk performance-art group Pussy Riot, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina, have been assaulted by a group of unknown attackers.
Lawyer Yevgeny Gubin says the attack took place at a McDonald’s in the city of Nizhny Novgorod.
The attackers threw metallic objects, food, and splashed the two women with the indelible green antiseptic known as "zelyonka."
Alyokhina cut her forehead. Both women suffered eye injuries.
Gubin said an official complaint had been filed with police.

Amnesty International condemned what it believes was a premeditated attack, saying the assailants filmed the incident.
Tolokonnikova, Alyokhina, and other Pussy Riot members were attacked by Cossacks during the Winter Olympics in Sochi as they performed a song criticizing President Vladimir Putin.
The two served almost two years in jail for staging an anti-Putin art performance in an Orthodox cathedral in Moscow in 2012.
They were released in December.
