The speaker of Georgia's parliament says lawmakers might return to Tbilisi to hold their sessions as early as spring 2013.

David Usupashvili said on December 28 that returning the seat of parliament to Tbilisi from Kutaisi was part of a package of amendments due to be reviewed early next year.

Critics of moving parliament to Kutaisi point out it's some 230 kilometers east of the capital, Tbilisi, where other government structures continue to be headquartered, something that unnecessarily complicates communications between departments of the government.
