Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi has said on state TV that his country has successfully test-fired an upgraded version of the Fateh-110 short-range ballistic missile.
The Islamic Republic of Iran news network quoted Vahidi as saying on August 4 that the missile has a range of some 300 kilometers and can hit targets "in the Persian Gulf and Sea of Oman as well as land-based targets."
The defense minister called the missile a "deterrent," adding "it will only be used against those who have bad intentions toward" Iran.
Vahidi did not say when the missile was test-fired.
