Iranian authorities have captured three suspects in the killing of a public prosecutor in the southeastern Sistan-Baluchistan Province earlier this month.
Ramazan Sharif of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps said on November 18 that the three suspects were captured in a special operation and that one suspect remains on the loose.
Sharif described the three as members of a criminal group without elaborating further.
Musa Nouri, the prosecutor in the city of Zabul, and his driver were shot dead by unknown assailants on November 6.
Sistan-Baluchistan is located near the border with Afghanistan.
The majority of the people in the Iranian province are Sunni Muslims, unlike the rest of the country where Shi'ites are the majority.
Sunni militants and drug traffickers have caused problems for years in that region.
