Several thousand people have attended an antigovernment demonstration in Montenegro. Up to 5,000 people rallied in the capital, Podgorica, calling for Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic to step down and for new elections to be held. Protesters held Montenegrin and Serbian flags and chanted "Milo is a thief," referring to the prime minister. The demonstration, held in Podgorica's central square, was organized by the opposition Democratic Front political party. The protest was held amid tight security in the capital, where barricades were placed around government buildings. There were no reports of violence. Opposition leaders have accused Djukanovic, who has been in power since 2012, of corruption and election fraud.
