At Least 10 Killed In Pakistani Bus Attack

Police in Pakistan say suspected Sunni Muslim militants attacked a bus carrying Shi'ite pilgrims, killing at least 10 people.

Dozens more were injured in the attack in the southwestern town of Quetta, the capital of Balochistan Province.

Police say the bus, which was carrying around 40 passengers traveling from Iran to Quetta, was attacked with a bomb and gunfire.

Shi'ite Muslims are a minority in predominantly Sunni Pakistan.

Although most Sunnis and Shi'ites live peacefully together, extremists from both sides have targeted each other over the past three decades.

In recent years, Sunni attacks on Shi'ites have been far more common.

Balochistan, which borders Afghanistan and Iran, has become an increasing flashpoint for sectarian violence.
