Russian Firefighters Face Punishment Over Selfies In Front Of Burning Shopping Mall


Russian authorities say two firefighters will face administrative punishment for taking selfies in front of a blazing shopping mall and posting the photos on the Internet.

The Regional Emergency Situations Department of Tatarstan said on March 15 that authorities are probing the incident that took place when emergency teams were extinguishing a fire in the Admiral shopping complex in Kazan, the capital of the Tatarstan region.

Authorities say 17 people were killed and at least 55 others were injured as a result of the blaze and partial collapse of the three-story shopping mall on March 11.

Two police officers and two emergency workers were among the injured.
