Russia Fines Ukrainian Rock Band For Not Having Visa

KYIV -- Russia's Federal Migration Service has fined nine members of a Ukrainian rock band for not having work permits.

Ukraine's Okean Elzy band was performing at the Kristal ice arena in Russia's Saratov region on November 2 when officials from the migration service made a surprise inspection.

Migration authorities in Saratov said none of the nine band members had valid permits to work in Russia so they were fined 18,000 rubles (some $600).

The organizers of the concert were fined 225,000 rubles (some $7,500).
