Five Killed In Russian North Caucasus

Shooting and bomb attacks are frequent in Russia's North Caucasus, where authorities are struggling to contain a movement by separatist Islamist insurgents.

At least five people have been reported killed in a series of attacks in Russia's North Caucasus region.

 

In Ingushetia, two police were reported killed and about 15 other people injured in an explosion June 4 in Malgobek.

 

In another incident in Malgobek, a woman shopkeeper was shot dead.

 

In Daghestan, the head of the Magaramkent District administration was shot dead June 4.

 

And in Tarki, near the Daghestan capital Makhachkala, at least one person was killed when a gunman opened fire on worshippers outside a mosque.
