January 20, 2007 -- A car bomb exploded near a coalition force convoy in southern Afghanistan yesterday, wounding five soldiers.
A spokesman for NATO's International Security Assistance Force said suspected Taliban militants also opened fire on the convoy shortly after the attack in Oruzgan province yesterday.
The soldiers called in air support and ISAF helicopter gunships bombed the enemy position, but it was not clear whether the rebels had sustained any casualties.
