NARYN, Kyrgyzstan -- An avalanche on Kyzyl-Asker Mountain in Kyrgyzstan's Naryn Oblast has killed a Russian tourist and seriously injured four others, RFE/RL's Kyrgyz Service reports.

A representative of the Kyrgyz Emergency Situations Ministry told RFE/RL that the body of the deceased tourist would be taken to Bishkek for forensic tests and then handed over to the Russian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan.

The injured tourists, all of whom are from the Yekaterinburg area, are currently at a camp near Kyzyl-Asker.
