Belarusian Town Without Water For Three Days

TEXT SIZE - +
BYKHAU, Belarus -- The eastern Belarusian town of Bykhau has been without water and sewage service for three days, RFE/RL's Belarus Service reports.

The interruption was caused by an accident on March 17 in the water-supply system for the town of 18,000.

More than 1,500 households, along with schools, have no access to water, which is normally provided by the nearby Dneiper River.

City officials have not given precise information on either the repair works or when full water and sewage services will be restored.
