Birthday Celebration in Front Of Tehran's Evin Prison

How do you celebrate the birthday of a political prisoner? You buy some flowers and a "green" cake and you take it in front of Tehran's Evin prison.

That's what the friends of colleagues of jailed journalist Ali Malihi did on April 30 when he turned 28 years old.

The "Kaleme" website close to opposition leader Mir Hossein Musavi has posted some pictures of the sad birthday celebration for Malihi, who has been in jail for the past three months.

Written on the cake the color of the opposition movement: "Your path will lead to freedom. Happy birthday, Dear Ali".

Malihi, a member of the alumni association of Iran's largest reformist student group, the Office to Foster Unity, is among the 60-some journalists who have been jailed in the crackdown following last June's disputed presidential election.
