Bus Slams Into Bulldozer In Uzbekistan, Killing 26

MOSCOW (Reuters) -- At least 26 people were killed in Uzbekistan on May 2 when a bus collided with a stationary bulldozer at the roadside, Russia's RIA news agency reported, citing a local police official.

There were 50 passengers on board the bus at the time of the accident, which took place in the arid and mostly rural region of Qashqadaryo in the south of the Central Asian state.

"At least 26 people died, and more than 20 were injured," the official told RIA.

RFE/RL has been declared an "undesirable organization" by the Russian government.
